PUGIN’S CHAIR FOUND AT THE HUNTINGTON LIBRARY

Mrs. Moore and I spent a wonderful day wandering through the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, near where I spent much of my youth.  I walked into a new display room,  and before me I spotted one of Pugin’s chairs which he originally designed for the Palace of Westminster/Parliament.  There are several of these chairs now at Windsor in the Queen’s private Chapel.  But how in the world did the Huntington acquire such a treasure?  I was stunned when I saw it sitting there.
